The Hills is a village of just over 2200 people and is located in Travis County, Texas.  The community was not incorporated until May of 1997 and is a Type B General Law municipality.

Totaling only 1.1 square miles, The Hills has no waterways, but rather is comprised strictly of land.  The Hills is an affluent community with the estimated median household income being $131,663, while the estimated median value of a house  in the area is over half a million dollars.  Rentals usually go for over $2000 a month.

Homes in the community are predominantly single-family and The Hills Country Club is the only actual business in the village.  The country club is situated on the shores of Lake Travis and was opened in 1981.  One of it’s 18-hole courses was designed by golf great Jack Nicklaus and the club also offers swimming, tennis and other social amenities.
